Meet Model Denise

Q:What do you do for a living?
A:I am a full time Social Service worker for the City of Toronto, part time Supervisor at the Meals on Wheels program for Dixon Hall and a part time plus model signed to 2 agencies here in Toronto

Q: What challenges have you endured in the past or present to achieve your goals?
A:Many challenges have been in my path. Body type, family history of health issues, pressure from society to keep up a standard "look", but I found that I had to push myself to be my own reason why I made some changed. I had to want it bad enough.

Q:What do you do to "center in" ( re-focus on achieving your goals)?
A: To center in, I remind myself that the next generation is always watching, keeping an eye on what I'm doing and I want to set a good example for other young black women. I take time for myself. Whether that be in the gym, taking a "staycation" at home for a few days to unwind and relax, or cooking myself a really great meal.

Q: . What is your Y (why do you continue doing what you do)?
A: My "why" is the next generation. Young women need more body positive and health conscious women to look up to. They mostly see celebrities in waist trainers drinking slimming tea or having their bodies done.
And while that may work for some....I want them to know that with hard work, dedication and a little discipline they can achieve all their goals
